			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I love autumn &#8230; or fall.  The season where the temp. starts getting chilly and the leaves turn sunburst colors.  Then those leaves fall and are crispy under our feet and the complaining and frustration of large tree owners can be heard from miles around.  <img src='http://www.lowcarbdujour.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>The only reason I get the blues during this time of year is because all of the farmers markets and local area produce vendors either close their doors completely or they start bringing in produce from far, far away.</p>
<p><span id="more-382"></span></p>
<p>I want local produce from local farmers.  I live in an area where corn is what most farmers are growing &#8211; not exactly what someone on a low-carb lifestyle can eat.  So its also rare for the local farmers to grow fall/winter veggies when large conglomerates will pay them to grow corn and then leave the land to rest until next corn-growing season begins.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been looking for places to buy local and they just don&#8217;t exist.  At least we have a farmer&#8217;s market where I can go to support local small business and they at least know where they get their produce and usually how its been grown.</p>
<p>I think for next year, I&#8217;ll try buying in bulk and start canning &#8230;&#8230; yep, just what I need &#8211; one more time-consuming thing to add to my plate!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You&#8217;ll have noticed that I&#8217;ve not been posting very much.  This is due to repetitive stress injury to my right hand/arm.  It&#8217;s not life threatening but it does affect my ability to type, write, make jewelry, scrapbook, cook, bake, knit, crochet, well &#8230; you get the idea.  It has affected my lifestyle until we get this fixed.  Being injured stinks and I can&#8217;t wait to start posting a lot more soon!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Trust me &#8211; pizza when you are stressed out is NOT the answer if you are on a low-carb lifestyle.  After 2 very stressful 12-hour days at work I was exhausted and didn&#8217;t even care what I ate, so we ordered pizza so I wouldn&#8217;t have to cook.</p>
<p>Note to self:  Keep something in the house that can be thrown in the microwave or the oven so this doesn&#8217;t happen again.</p>
<p><span id="more-8"></span></p>
<p>Boo-boo&#8217;s like this occur.  Can&#8217;t be helped and we are all human.  The key is to:</p>
<ul>
<li>not tlet it bother me</li>
<li>not focus on the lapse</li>
<li>not let it stop me for continuing my weight-loss program</li>
</ul>
<p>This lesson (which I should have learned years ago by now) cost me 1.5 lbs in weight gained.</p>
<p>Ok &#8211; fine &#8230; today is another day and I plan to do my best to eat right.  It&#8217;s going to be a challenge because I&#8217;m going to be flying to San Diego today.  Airports and airplanes are not the best places to try and eat low-carb. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ll check back either in San Diego or when I get back with an update!</p>
